Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 cups chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or mix semi-sweet and milk for balance (18 oz / 510 g)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk Gives that classic creamy fudge texture (14 oz / 397 g)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter Use unsalted butter so you can control the salt (56 g)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract Brightens the chocolate flavor (5 ml)
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts Toast them lightly if you like extra crunch (120 g)
  • 1 pinch salt Just enough to lift the chocolate.

Method

Preparation
  1. Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) pan with parchment and set aside, ensuring the parchment overhangs for easy removal.
  2. Combine chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter in a medium saucepan over very low heat.
  3. Stir constantly with a rubber spatula until the mixture turns shiny and smooth.
  4. Once the chocolate melts into a glossy, thick ribbon, remove from heat and stir in vanilla, a pinch of salt, and chopped nuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, spread evenly, and press gently for a smooth top.
  6. Let it set at room temperature for 1 hour, or refrigerate for 20–30 minutes until firm enough to cut.

Notes

For best results, always serve fresh from the pan or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks, or freeze in layers for up to 3 months.
