Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 bag Doritos (your favorite flavor; recommended: nacho cheese or cool ranch)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Use room temperature for easier mixing.
  • 1 cup cooked bacon, crumbled (about 8-10 slices) Feel free to add more bacon for extra flavor.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream For creamy texture.
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped Optional, for garnish.
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Soften the cream cheese by placing it in a medium mixing bowl. Make sure it’s at room temperature. If it needs a little help, microwave for 15-20 seconds—just avoid melting it!
  2. Add the sour cream to bring that tangy flavor into the mix.
  3. Sprinkle in the garlic powder and onion powder to give it some extra depth.
  4. Blend the cream cheese and sour cream together until it’s smooth and creamy, using a hand mixer or a spatula. Don’t forget to scrape the sides to catch all the goodness.
  5. Fold in the crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar cheese, saving a bit of each to sprinkle on top later. Season with a pinch of salt and pepper to your liking.
Assembly
  1. Grab a large serving platter or baking dish and lay down a generous base of Doritos, breaking some chips if needed to cover the bottom.
  2. Spoon over a hearty amount of the cream cheese mixture, spreading it evenly across the chips.
  3. Add another layer of Doritos on top of the cream cheese, and keep layering until you run out of ingredients. Aim for two layers for maximum deliciousness.
  4. Sprinkle your reserved crumbled bacon and shredded cheddar on top, along with optional green onions for a pop of color.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cover your dish with aluminum foil.
  2. Bake for about 15-20 minutes to warm everything through and melt the cheese until bubbly.
  3. Finally, remove the foil and let it bake for an additional 5-10 minutes, until the top is golden and delightful.
Serving
  1. Let it cool slightly before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, consider making a delicious wrap or a layered salad with greens. You can prepare and refrigerate it ahead of time and then bake on the day. Freezing is not recommended; it's best fresh out of the oven.
