Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Split the rolls and brush the insides with a thin layer of butter.
- Layer salami, pepperoni, and ham or capicola evenly across each roll.
- Add provolone slices on top of the meats, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella.
- Season with oregano, a pinch of salt, and a grind of pepper.
Baking
- Place the filled subs on a baking sheet and bake for 10–15 minutes until the cheese melts and the roll edges turn golden.
- Remove from the oven, drizzle with Italian dressing, and top with shredded lettuce and tomato slices.
- Cut in half and serve warm.
Notes
Assemble ahead and refrigerate for up to 2 hours. Don’t overstuff; cut meat slightly smaller to close the roll easily. Add red pepper flakes or chopped fresh basil for extra flavor.
