Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat together sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until creamy.
  3. Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt, then blend the mixture for 1 minute.
  5. Gently fold in the chopped walnuts.
  6. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool slightly before frosting.
Frosting
  1. Melt butter over medium heat in a saucepan, heating until golden brown.
  2. Whisk in powdered sugar, followed by milk one tablespoon at a time until smooth.
  3. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Pour the frosting over the warm brownies, smoothing it with a spatula. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
