  • 2 slices American cheese Melts reliably.
  • 4 slices bacon Cook until crispy.
  • 4 large eggs Beaten.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream Can use whole milk for lighter custard.
  • 1/2 cup milk Can substitute with whole milk.
Bread and Vegetables
  • 4 slices thick sliced bread Day-old bread is better for soaking.
  • 1/2 onion sliced thin Caramelizes faster when thinly sliced.
Seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper To taste.
Optional Ingredients
  • Big Mac sauce Optional for added flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. Divide the beef into two even patties; season with salt and pepper, and press slightly.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-high, then add patties; cook until nicely browned and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side for medium.
  3. In another pan, crisp the bacon and set aside on paper towels; in the same skillet, add onions and cook until soft and golden, about 6–8 minutes.
  4. Whisk eggs, heavy cream, milk, garlic powder, salt and pepper until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Dip each slice of bread into the egg wash and cook in a buttered skillet until set and golden on both sides.
  2. Assemble by spreading Big Mac sauce if using, placing a beef patty on two French toast slices, adding cheese, bacon, and cooked onions, then topping with the other French toast slice.
  3. Press gently to set and serve hot. Optionally, deep fry briefly until crispy and golden.

Notes

Tips: Cook patties and bacon at the same time to save time. Avoid over-soaking bread to prevent sogginess. Variations include adding smoked paprika to the beef or swapping sauces.
