Ingredients

Salad Ingredients
  • 1 head chopped broccoli Fresh is always best for that vibrant crunch!
  • 1 head chopped cauliflower Adds a lovely white contrast to your salad.
  • 1/2 lb cooked bacon Crispy and full of flavor; you can't go wrong here!
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Sharp or mild—choose what you love!
Dressing Ingredients
  • 1 cup mayonnaise Brings richness and creaminess.
  • 1 cup sour cream For added tang!
  • 1/2 cup sugar Balances the savory with a hint of sweetness.
  • 1/2 tsp salt Just enough to enhance flavors without overpowering them.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the broccoli and cauliflower into small florets.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crispy. Crumble it into bits and set aside to cool slightly.
Mixing
  1. In a large bowl, combine the chopped broccoli and cauliflower, crumbled bacon, and shredded cheddar.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  3. Pour the dressing over the veggie mixture and stir until everything is well-coated.
Serving
  1. Enjoy it right away or chill it in the fridge for later.

Notes

Time-Saving Trick: Pre-cook the bacon in batches. It keeps well in the fridge and can be used for other meals throughout the week! If your salad is too sweet, add a pinch of extra salt or more sour cream to balance it out. Experiment with adding diced apples or nuts for a delightful crunch.
