Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking tray with parchment.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until smooth.
  3. Add the egg and mix until everything looks glossy and well combined.
  4. Gradually stir in the flour and cinnamon until the dough comes together.
  5. Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop dough balls onto the prepared tray about 2 inches apart.
Baking
  1. Bake for 9–11 minutes, until edges turn a light golden brown.
  2. Let the cookies rest on the tray for a few minutes before moving them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. If desired, dust with cinnamon sugar before serving.
