  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 28 ounces shoestring French fries Crisps fastest when cooked.
  • 10.5 ounces cream of mushroom soup
  • 10.5 ounces cheddar cheese soup
  • ½ cup cheddar cheese, shredded Use shredded, not pre-sliced.
  • ½ yellow onion, diced
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic Fresh garlic gives bigger flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • to taste salt Taste before adding.
  • to taste black pepper
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon pickle juice
  • ½ teaspoon dehydrated onions

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the air fryer and cook the French fries according to package instructions until golden and crisp.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high and add the ground beef and diced onion; brown until no pink remains and the onion softens.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30–45 seconds until fragrant. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Drain excess grease from the pan.
  6. Mix in the cream of mushroom soup and cheddar cheese soup until the mixture becomes thick and saucy.
  7. Transfer the beef mixture to a 7x11 casserole dish and spread smooth.
  8. Layer the cooked shoestring fries over the beef in an even layer.
  9. Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the fries.
Baking
  1. Bake at 350°F for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese melts and the edges turn lightly golden.
Serving
  1. Whisk the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, dehydrated onions, and black pepper in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the sauce over the casserole, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

To save time, cook fries in the air fryer while browning the beef. For a smoky note, stir a pinch of smoked paprika into the beef or add chopped pickles for crunch.
