  • 1/2 cup sour cream Perfect balance of tartness.
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup This will tie all those flavors together beautifully.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder For that little punch of flavor.
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder Enhances the overall taste without overpowering.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Season to your preference!
Topping
  • 1 sleeve Ritz crackers, crushed The buttery crunch is essential for that classic topping.
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted Use unsalted for better control over seasoning.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream until creamy.
  3. Stir in the cream of chicken soup along with the garlic and onion powders. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped chicken until every piece is coated in the cheese mixture.
  5. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Assembly
  1. In a small bowl, combine the crushed Ritz crackers with the melted butter.
  2. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the top of the casserole.
Baking
  1. Bake uncovered for 30-35 minutes until hot, bubbly, and golden brown on top.

Notes

Make-Ahead Tips: Assemble the casserole up to 24 hours in advance and refrigerate. To freeze, prepare everything except the topping and freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before adding the topping and baking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
