Ingredients

For the chocolate coating
  • 1 package 10-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate for best results.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil Coconut oil gives the chocolate a smooth finish.
For the strawberries
  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries (stems attached) Use fresh strawberries for a juicier bite.
Toppings (optional)
  • mini chocolate chips For topping.
  • chopped nuts For crunch.
  • sweetened shredded coconut For a tropical twist.
  • melted white chocolate For drizzle on top.

Method

Preparation
  1. Wash the strawberries gently and pat them dry with a paper towel. Any moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking.
Melting the Chocolate
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then heat in increments of 15 seconds, stirring until smooth.
  2. Alternatively, fill a pot with water and place a heat-proof bowl on top. Add the chocolate mixture and stir gently until melted.
Dipping Strawberries
  1. Hold each strawberry by the stem, dip into the melted chocolate, and twist to coat it evenly.
  2. Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut for extra flair.
  3. If desired, melt some white chocolate separately. Using a fork, drizzle it over the dipped strawberries.
Setting the Chocolate
  1. Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. If serving later, keep them warm in your oven on a low setting until ready to serve.

Notes

Use a microwave to melt chocolate quickly and ensure strawberries are dry before dipping. Try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a sweet and salty twist.
