Preparation
- Wash the strawberries gently and pat them dry with a paper towel. Any moisture can prevent the chocolate from sticking.
Melting the Chocolate
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave for 30 seconds, stir, then heat in increments of 15 seconds, stirring until smooth.
- Alternatively, fill a pot with water and place a heat-proof bowl on top. Add the chocolate mixture and stir gently until melted.
Dipping Strawberries
- Hold each strawberry by the stem, dip into the melted chocolate, and twist to coat it evenly.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or shredded coconut for extra flair.
- If desired, melt some white chocolate separately. Using a fork, drizzle it over the dipped strawberries.
Setting the Chocolate
- Place the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- If serving later, keep them warm in your oven on a low setting until ready to serve.
Notes
Use a microwave to melt chocolate quickly and ensure strawberries are dry before dipping. Try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top for a sweet and salty twist.
