Preparation
- Wash the strawberries. Give them a good rinse under cool water. Make sure they’re completely dry; this helps the chocolate stick.
- Melt the chocolate. Place your chosen chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, then microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Alternatively, use a double boiler for a gentler melt.
- Dip the strawberries. Hold the strawberry by the stem and dip it into the melted chocolate. Let any excess chocolate drip off – it’s okay to have a thick coat.
- Place on a tray. Arrange the dipped strawberries on a parchment-lined tray. Make sure they aren’t touching to avoid sticking.
- Set in the fridge. Pop the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened completely. The chocolate should feel firm to the touch.
- Serve and Enjoy! Once set, indulge in your delicious Chocolate Covered Strawberries!
Notes
For a time-saver, use chocolate melts; they’re easier and quicker to work with. Avoid letting water touch your chocolate while melting. If this happens, add a small amount of vegetable oil to salvage it. You can drizzle contrasting chocolate on top for an eye-catching design.
