  • 1 to 2 tablespoons cacao powder Start with 1 tablespoon and add more if a richer flavor is desired.
  • 2 tablespoons creamy natural peanut butter Feel free to use any nut butter of your choice.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For added flavor.
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk Milk of your choice can be used for varying flavors.
  • as necessary cup more almond milk To thin the smoothie if desired.

Preparation
  1. In a large high-powered blender, combine the frozen banana, cacao powder, peanut butter, vanilla extract, and almond milk.
  2. Blend on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping once or twice to scrape down the sides, until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.
  3. If desired, adjust the cacao powder for a richer flavor by adding another tablespoon and blend again.
  4. If the smoothie is too thick, add more almond milk a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Re-blend with a splash of milk if it thickens. Optionally, freeze portions for later use.
