Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 4 cups Chex cereal Use the classic rice or corn for that perfect crunch!
  • 1 cup chocolate chips Milk chocolate is my favorite, but dark works too!
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter Creamy for easier mixing, but crunchy adds texture!
  • 1/4 cup butter Unsalted helps you control the flavor.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For that sweet finishing touch.
  • 1/2 cup red and green M&M's Adds a festive pop of color!
  • 1/2 cup holiday sprinkles Because everything is better with sprinkles!

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large mixing bowl, pour in the Chex cereal.
  2. In a saucepan, add the butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Place over medium heat and stir constantly until melted.
  3. Pour the chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir gently until all pieces are coated.
  4. Transfer the mixture into a large resealable plastic bag, add the powdered sugar, seal it, and shake until well coated.
  5. Spread the coated cereal onto a baking sheet and allow it to cool completely.
  6. Once cooled, fold in the red and green M&M's and holiday sprinkles.
  7. Serve your Christmas Puppy Chow in a festive bowl or package it for gifts.

Notes

Time-Saving Trick: Melt the chocolate and mix in the peanut butter in the microwave in short bursts to avoid burning. You can also add a teaspoon of vegetable oil if the chocolate seizes up.
