Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy and light in color.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract; continue mixing until glossy and smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk; mix until just combined.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and tap it gently on the counter to remove air pockets.
Baking
- Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Remove the loaf and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glazing
- For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm loaf and scatter holiday sprinkles on top.
Notes
Store the cooled loaf tightly wrapped at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze single portions for up to 2 months. Reheat slices in the microwave or oven.
