Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until fluffy and light in color.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract; continue mixing until glossy and smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk; mix until just combined.
  6. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and tap it gently on the counter to remove air pockets.
Baking
  1. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Remove the loaf and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glazing
  1. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  2. Drizzle the glaze over the warm loaf and scatter holiday sprinkles on top.

Notes

Store the cooled loaf tightly wrapped at room temperature for 2 days or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze single portions for up to 2 months. Reheat slices in the microwave or oven.
