- Cut Cinnamon Rolls: Open both cans of cinnamon rolls and slice each roll into quarters. Reserve the icing for later.
- Assemble Base Layer: Arrange the cut cinnamon roll pieces evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- Prepare Custard Mixture: In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and granulated sugar until fully combined.
- Soak and Layer: Pour the custard mixture evenly over the arranged cinnamon roll pieces and drizzle the melted butter on top.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and set in the center.
- Add Toppings: Drizzle maple syrup and reserved icing over the top while the casserole is still warm.
- Serve: Allow to cool slightly, cut into portions, and serve warm.
Notes
You can prepare the casserole the night before. If your casserole comes out too dry, it may have been over-baked. Add chopped pecans or fresh berries for extra flavor.
