Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the chopped Granny Smith apples with granulated sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch (or flour), and salt until coated evenly.
- In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Drizzle in the melted butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Assembly and Baking
- Pour the apple mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for about 35-45 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
Serving
- Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
To save time, prep the apples a day ahead. If apples are too juicy, add more cornstarch. For a twist, incorporate nuts or oats into the crumble.
