Icing Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
  2. Grease a large Bundt or tube pan and dust it with flour.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, shortening, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one by one, mixing well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together your flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mix to the buttery mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.
  7. Stir in both the vanilla and optional butter extracts.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Bake for 75 to 90 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool for 10 to 15 minutes before transferring it to a cooling rack.
