Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter over medium heat, stirring occasionally until golden brown.
  3. In a large bowl, toss together sliced peaches with 1/2 cup granulated sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour browned butter over the peach mixture and gently stir to combine, then pour into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Cobbler Assembly
  1. In another bowl, whisk together flour, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Add milk and 1/4 cup melted butter to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. Spoon the batter over the peach mixture, spreading it evenly.
