  • whole cloves Whole cloves (optional, for studding the ham) For those who enjoy beautiful presentation!

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F.
  2. Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil.
  3. Carefully place the ham, cut side down, in the pan. If you'd like, stud it with whole cloves.
  4. In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, ground cinnamon, black pepper, and apple cider vinegar. Stir until smooth.
  5. Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the ham.
  6. Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes per pound, until the internal temperature reaches 140°F.
  2. About 30 minutes before it's done, remove the foil and brush on more glaze.
  3. Once done, let the ham rest for 15 to 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

You can prep the glaze the day before for enhanced flavor. If the ham seems too dry, drizzle some broth or leftover glaze over it before serving. For a variation, consider adding a splash of orange juice to the glaze.
