Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef 80/20 blend for moisture
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs panko or regular for texture
  • 1 egg helps bind the ingredients
  • ½ cup milk keeps the meatloaf moist
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce adds deep umami flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • For the Glaze:
  • ½ cup ketchup classic tangy topping
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar adds slight caramelization
  • 1 teaspoon mustard optional but adds depth

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.
  • Mix the Ingredients
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, chopped onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Gently mix with your hands or a spatula until well combined. Don’t overmix! Overworking the meat can make it dense and tough.
  • Shape and Glaze
  • Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet or loaf pan.
  • Shape it into a loaf shape without pressing too hard.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.
  • Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Bake the Meatloaf
  • Place the meatloaf in the preheated oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
  • Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
  • 📌 Pro Tip: Use a meat thermometer to ensure it’s cooked perfectly without drying out!

  • Use Fresh Ingredients – Fresh onion, garlic, and seasonings enhance the flavor.
  • Don’t Skip Resting Time – Allowing the meatloaf to rest helps retain juices.
