  • 3 pieces ripe bananas (mashed) Overripe is best for sweetness!
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Use unsalted for the best control over flavors.
  • 3/4 cup sugar This adds that delightful sweetness.
  • 1 piece large egg (beaten) It binds the mixture together.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Because who doesn’t love that hint of vanilla?
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda This gives our bread that perfect rise.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness beautifully.
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour The base that brings it all together.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare your loaf pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, mash the bananas with a fork until smooth with a few lumps remaining.
  4. Stir in the melted butter until combined into a glossy mixture.
  5. Add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until blended.
  6. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and gently stir them in.
  7. Fold in the flour carefully until no streaks of flour remain.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it out evenly.
Baking
  1. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

For a time-saving trick, soften bananas in the microwave for about 30 seconds. If over-mixed, adding extra banana or yogurt can help.
