- Start by heating the olive oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a large pan or skillet over medium heat until the butter starts to melt.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds to a minute.
- Toss in the shrimp, seasoned with salt and pepper. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes on one side until they start turning pink, then flip.
- Pour in the white wine or broth and add red pepper flakes if desired. Bring to a simmer for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the wine has reduced by about half and the shrimp is cooked through.
- Stir in the remaining butter, lemon juice, and fresh parsley before taking off the heat.
Notes
If you buy pre-peeled shrimp, you'll save about 10 minutes in prep. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp as they can become rubbery. For a rich, creamy sauce, consider adding a splash of cream or tossing in some cherry tomatoes.
