  • 1 inch grated ginger Fresh ginger for best flavor
  • 1 inch grated cucumber Use fresh cucumber for a refreshing taste
  • 0.5 lime juice of half a lime Freshly squeezed lime juice enhances flavor
  • 6 leaves mint leaves Fresh mint adds aromatic flavor
  • 0.5 cup sparkling water Use any brand of sparkling water
  • 0.5 cup diet ginger ale Can substitute with regular ginger ale or other ginger-flavored soda

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, muddle together the grated ginger, cucumber, and lime juice until well combined.
  2. Strain the mixture into your glass using a small strainer, pressing on the remnants to extract flavorful juices.
  3. Clap the mint leaves in your hands 3-4 times to release oils, then add them to the glass.
  4. Fill the glass with ice, then top off with equal parts diet ginger ale and sparkling water. Stir gently to combine.
  5. Garnish with lime wheels, slices of ginger, cucumber, or extra mint leaves. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness with honey if desired. Can add other fruits for variations. Chill glass before serving for a colder drink.
