  • 1 cup onions, chopped Don't skip this for improved flavor.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic for extra flavor.
Spices and Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon bouillon powder Enhances savory goodness.
  • ½ teaspoon cumin Adds earthiness.
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper For gentle warmth.
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika Provides a lovely smoky flavor.
  • to taste none salt Adjust as per preference.

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. Begin by placing ground beef in a large pan or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
  2. Break up the ground beef using a wooden spoon, cooking until it's beautifully browned.
Adding Onions & Garlic
  1. Once the beef is browned, push it to one side of the pan.
  2. Toss in the chopped onions and minced garlic, stirring until fragrant.
Making the Sauce
  1. Pour in the diced tomatoes along with the spices and bring to a boil.
  2. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes on medium-high heat.
Cooking the Cabbage
  1. Add the chopped cabbage to the pot, stir, and cover with a lid.
  2. Allow the cabbage to steam for about 10-15 minutes until tender.
Serving
  1. Adjust seasoning one last time and serve hot from the skillet.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To reheat, add a splash of water to keep it moist. Consider using leftover in wraps or sandwiches.
