Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound lean ground beef Use the best quality you can find; it makes all the difference!
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped Adds a lovely sweetness when sautéed.
  • 2 heaping tablespoons tomato paste Gives the dish depth and richness.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Garlic lovers can definitely go for fresh garlic here!
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder For that subtle warmth and flavor kick.
  • 3 cups beef broth Homemade or store-bought works just fine.
  • 1 cup uncooked elbow macaroni Classic comfort pasta that perfectly absorbs flavors.
  • 2 cups freshly grated cheddar cheese Trust me, it’s worth grating fresh; the melt is divine!
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Heat a cozy pot over medium-high heat. Toss in the ground beef and chopped onions.
  2. Cook for about 7-10 minutes, breaking the meat up as it browns.
  3. Stir in the tomato paste, garlic powder, and chili powder.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and crank up the heat to high.
  5. Once it starts to bubble, add the uncooked macaroni.
  6. Reduce the heat to a rapid simmer and cook uncovered for 13-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Once the pasta is tender and the liquid has mostly absorbed, remove from heat and stir in the grated cheese.
  8. Let it sit for a couple of minutes before serving.

Notes

For a time-saving trick, prep your ingredients beforehand. Consider adding frozen veggies for extra flavor.
