Preparation
- Grab a freezer bag or your reusable silicone bag. Pour in the olive oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic, and water. Smoosh the bag with your hands until everything is well combined.
- Gently add the chicken breasts into the bag. Move the bag around to ensure that every inch of chicken is coated in that savory marinade.
- Pop that bag into the fridge and marinate for at least 2 hours, but if you can wait up to 24, it’s even better.
Cooking
- Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F.
- Place the marinated chicken in a shallow baking dish and bake for 10 minutes.
- Carefully flip the chicken over and bake for another 12 to 17 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
- Let the chicken rest at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
You can marinate the chicken ahead of time and store it in the freezer. Just take it out the night before for a ready-to-go meal. If it tastes too salty, add a splash more honey to balance it out. For a refreshing twist, consider adding fresh ginger or lime juice to the marinade.
