Ingredients
  

Cake Batter
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 100 ml water
  • 100 ml milk
  • 80 grams unsalted butter Use for better control.
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 150 grams all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 180 grams unsalted butter Use for better flavor.
Cream Filling
  • 500 ml milk
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
Garnish
  • to taste icing sugar Or your favorite garnish.

Method
 

Preparing the Dough
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine 150 grams of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Whisk to blend.
  3. Melt 80 grams of butter until soft, then add 4 eggs, 100 ml of milk, and 100 ml of water. Whisk until combined.
  4. Pour the liquid mixture into the dry ingredients and mix lightly until just combined.
Making the Cream Filling
  1. Heat 500 ml of milk over medium heat in a saucepan.
  2. Combine 150 grams of sugar and 100 grams of flour in a bowl, and gradually stir this mixture into the hot milk. Whisk well and let it thicken.
  3. Once thickened, remove from heat and fold in 180 grams of softened butter and 2 eggs until blended.
Assembling the Cake
  1. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased baking dish and smooth it out.
  2. Spread the cream filling over the batter.
  3. Pour the remaining batter on top, covering the filling evenly.
  4. Bake for about 35-40 minutes or until golden edges form.
  5. Let it sit for a few minutes before garnishing with icing sugar.

Notes

You can make the cream filling while the first half of the batter bakes. If the cake sinks, it might be due to overmixing. Add vanilla or almond extract for an extra flavor kick.
