Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar For the glaze.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease your donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, beaten eggs, vanilla, and melted butter until blended.
  4. Gently add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fill each donut well about 2/3 full.
Baking
  1. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  2. For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Dip each warm donut into the glaze and set them on a wire rack to cool.

Notes

You can prepare the batter the night before and refrigerate it. If you overbake, use simple syrup or extra glaze to add moisture back. Adding a sprinkle of cinnamon into the glaze adds extra flavor.
