  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 1 medium frozen banana
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed
  • 1 teaspoon honey, maple syrup, or agave Use to adjust sweetness
  • zest from 1 orange

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by adding the ice cubes, frozen banana, Greek yogurt, orange juice, and vanilla extract to your blender.
  2. Next, toss in the orange zest, segmented orange, and ground flaxseed.
  3. Finally, add your choice of honey, maple syrup, or agave to sweeten it up. Blend all the ingredients until you achieve a smooth consistency, about 60 to 90 seconds.

Notes

For a thicker smoothie, add more frozen fruit or use less liquid. To thin it out, add a splash of water or more orange juice. Experiment with sweetness to suit your taste.
