Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces firm pears, cored, peeled, and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted so you can control the salt
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
For Garnish
  • as needed powdered sugar for garnish
  • as needed cooking spray for a non-stick finish

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Coat a 9-inch round pan with cooking spray.
  3. Arrange the pear slices in the bottom of the pan.
Mixing
  1. In a blender, combine melted butter, eggs, milk, salt, granulated sugar, flour, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter over the arranged pears.
  2. Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the custard is golden and firm to the touch.
Finishing Touch
  1. Let the pie cool slightly, then dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

You can prep the pears in advance to save time. If the pie puffs up during baking, it will settle as it cools. For extra flavor, consider adding cinnamon or nutmeg to the batter.
