Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 packages 2 packages (14 oz each) Lil’ Smokies sausages
  • 1 cup 1 cup brown sugar Use light brown sugar for milder molasses flavor.
  • 1 cup 1 cup pineapple juice
  • 1 cup 1 cup pineapple chunks (fresh or canned) Canned pineapple works fine and drains well.
  • 1 tablespoon 1 tablespoon soy sauce Low-sodium soy sauce controls salt.
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Whisk brown sugar, pineapple juice, soy sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and cayenne until smooth.
  2. Add the Lil’ Smokies to the slow cooker in an even layer.
  3. Pour the glaze over the sausages so each one gets a shiny coat.
  4. Fold in the pineapple chunks so they nestle among the sausages.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on Low for 4 hours or on High for 2 hours; stir once or twice.
  2. Look for plump sausages with bubbling glaze and golden edges; that’s done.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with toothpicks for easy snacking.

Notes

For a twist, try adding a splash of hot sauce or swapping cayenne for smoked paprika. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days in the fridge or freeze for up to 2 months.
