Preparation
- Pulse the Oreo cookies into a fine crumble in a food processor.
- Add the softened cream cheese and mix until smooth and combined.
- Scoop the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-covered baking sheet.
- Refrigerate for about 15 minutes to firm up the balls.
- While waiting, score lines into each ball to mimic pumpkin grooves.
- Refrigerate again for another 10 minutes.
Coating
- Melt the orange candy melts following package directions.
- Dip each chilled pumpkin ball into the melted candy, shaking off excess.
- Place them back on the lined baking sheet and insert a pretzel stick on top for a stem.
- Sprinkle with leaf icing if desired, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
Make the mixture ahead of time and refrigerate overnight. If the chocolate gets too thick, microwave for a few seconds to soften it. Adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the cream cheese mixture adds spice.
