Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms gently under cold water, then pat them dry.
  3. Place the mushrooms on a baking sheet, spreading them out for even roasting.
Cooking
  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat, watching for it to brown.
  2. Once golden and nutty, add minced garlic and fresh thyme to the butter, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Pour the garlic thyme butter over the mushrooms and gently toss to coat.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Roast the mushrooms in the oven for 20-25 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  6. Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer.

Notes

Time-saving Trick: Prepare the butter sauce in advance and toss with mushrooms just before roasting. If butter burns, reduce the heat slightly after it starts to brown. For a creative twist, add a splash of balsamic vinegar before roasting.
