Apple Filling
  • 3 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples (about 3 medium) Choose your favorite kind.

Topping
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce The superstar ingredient!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  3. Add the flour and mix gently until crumbly. Press about two-thirds of this mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
  4. In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread this apple mixture over the crust.
  5. Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
  6. Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
  2. Let it cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.

Notes

Time-saving trick: Use pre-sliced apples from the store. Make sure not to overmix the crumble topping. Consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch!
