Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the flour and mix gently until crumbly. Press about two-thirds of this mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan.
- In a separate bowl, toss the sliced apples with ground cinnamon and nutmeg. Spread this apple mixture over the crust.
- Drizzle the salted caramel sauce over the apples.
- Crumble the remaining flour mixture over the top.
Baking
- Bake for 40-45 minutes until the topping is golden and the apples are tender.
- Let it cool completely in the pan before cutting into bars.
Notes
Time-saving trick: Use pre-sliced apples from the store. Make sure not to overmix the crumble topping. Consider adding chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch!
