Method

Cooking the sausage
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and crumble the sausage into the pan. Let it sizzle for about 8 to 10 minutes, breaking it into smaller pieces until browned. Drain on paper towels.
Preparing the dish
  1. Grease a baking dish with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Quarter each biscuit and arrange the pieces closely in the baking dish.
Assembling
  1. Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the biscuit layer.
  2. In a bowl, whisk the eggs for about 30 seconds until frothy. Add the milk, heavy cream, and seasonings. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the casserole, ensuring it seeps between the layers.
  4. Top with a generous layer of mixed cheddar and mozzarella cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover the casserole with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and add remaining cheese. Bake for another 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let the casserole rest for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes
