Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound pork sausage Seasoned pork sausage adds flavor.
  • 1 package cream cheese (8 oz), at room temperature Cream cheese should be soft for easy mixing.
  • 2 tubes crescent roll dough (8 oz each) Rolls will pop open, so be cautious.
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered garlic Adds a delicious aroma.
  • 1/4 teaspoon powdered onion Perfect for a savory touch.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper For a subtle kick.
  • 1/4 cup grated cheddar cheese Optional, adds cheesy richness.
  • 1 egg whisked For brushing on top for a golden finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large frying pan, cook the pork sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces. Drain any excess grease.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage with cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Add grated cheddar cheese if desired.
  4. Open the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  5. Place a generous spoonful of the sausage mixture at the wide end of each triangle and roll it up towards the thinner end, sealing the edges.
Baking
  1. Arrange the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and brush with the beaten egg.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, you can cook the sausage ahead of time and refrigerate. Use water to help seal rolls if needed. Variations include swapping out sausage for bacon or adding jalapeƱos for spice.
