Method
Preparation
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and bell pepper. Stir occasionally for about 5-7 minutes until the beef starts to brown and the veggies soften.
- Drain any excess grease.
- Stir in minced garlic, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- While that simmers, warm your flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until they’re pliable.
Assembly
- Spoon a generous amount of rich meat mixture onto each tortilla, sprinkle it with shredded cheese, and roll them up burrito-style.
Baking
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your burritos seam-side down. Brush the tops with oil.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes until the tortillas are crispy and golden.
- Alternatively, you can fry them in a skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side, air fry for 8-10 minutes, or grill wrapped in foil for 10-15 minutes.
Notes
Time-saving trick: Prep the meat mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge. For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños, or substitute ground beef with turkey.
