Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic gives it that extra flavor boost!
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Method

Preparation
  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and bell pepper. Stir occasionally for about 5-7 minutes until the beef starts to brown and the veggies soften.
  2. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, tomato sauce, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard powder, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. While that simmers, warm your flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until they’re pliable.
Assembly
  1. Spoon a generous amount of rich meat mixture onto each tortilla, sprinkle it with shredded cheese, and roll them up burrito-style.
Baking
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place your burritos seam-side down. Brush the tops with oil.
  2. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until the tortillas are crispy and golden.
  3. Alternatively, you can fry them in a skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side, air fry for 8-10 minutes, or grill wrapped in foil for 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Time-saving trick: Prep the meat mixture ahead of time and store it in the fridge. For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños, or substitute ground beef with turkey.
