Ingredients
Method
Preparation
- Start by placing the beef chuck roast into your slow cooker.
- Add the onion soup mix, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, and garlic powder. Stir gently to coat the beef.
Cooking
- Cover the slow cooker and let it cook on LOW for about 8 hours or HIGH for 4 to 5 hours, until the beef is fork-tender.
Serving
- Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks and return it to the slow cooker to soak in the broth.
- Toast the sandwich rolls or brioche buns until golden and slightly crisp.
- Pile the shredded beef onto the toasted buns, adding a slice of cheddar on top. Optionally, add caramelized onions or pickles.
- Serve hot with extra jus on the side for dipping.
Notes
Prep the slow cooker the night before for an easy morning. If beef seems dry, it might need more cooking time. Add horseradish mayo for added flavor.
