  • 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

Main ingredient

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar and flour until they’re well mixed.
  2. Slowly add in the water, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, ginger, and garlic powder. Cook the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly until it thickens and starts bubbling.
Cooking
  1. Place the spareribs in your slow cooker in an even layer.
  2. Pour the sauce over the ribs, ensuring each piece is well coated.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 10-12 hours or high for 5-6 hours until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

Notes

Time-saving Trick: Sear the ribs in a pan for a few minutes before placing them in the slow cooker for added flavor. Common Mistake Fix: If your sauce is too thick, add a splash of water or broth to loosen it up. Flavor Variation: Add barbecue sauce for a smoky twist or crushed red pepper for heat.
