Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until it becomes fluffy and light.
- Slowly mix in the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract.
- Once the dough is ready, divide it into two sections, keeping about 3/4 of it white and mixing red gel food coloring into the remaining part.
- Roll small portions of each color into ropes, twist them together, and pinch off little sections to form bite-sized mints.
Drying
- Allow your mints to air dry for 1 to 2 hours.
- Afterward, cut them into even pieces and let them dry for another 24 hours.
Notes
These mints are perfect for gifting and can be stored beautifully. If your dough is too sticky, just add a sprinkle of powdered sugar to firm it up.
