  • 1 container strawberries, sliced Fresh berries brighten the dish.
  • 1 5 oz box French Vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese Room temperature for smooth blending.
  • 1 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk Adds a warm, caramel-like sweetness.
  • 1 12 oz container whipped topping For a light, fluffy finish.

Method

Preparation
  1. Set cream cheese on the counter to soften.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the cream cheese with the sweetened condensed milk until smooth and glossy.
  3. Whisk French Vanilla pudding mix into 2 cups milk until it thickens, then stir it into the cream cheese mixture until smooth.
  4. Slice the bananas and strawberries.
Assembly
  1. In a large serving dish, arrange a layer of vanilla wafers.
  2. Add a generous layer of sliced bananas and strawberries.
  3. Pour half of the pudding mixture over the fruit and wafers.
  4. Repeat the layers with remaining wafers, bananas, and strawberries, then finish with the rest of the pudding mixture.
  5. Spread whipped topping over the final layer.
Chilling
  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
  2. Serve chilled.

Notes

Prepare the pudding mix and fruit the night before for easier assembly. Toss banana slices in lemon juice to keep them from browning. For a flavor twist, fold in chopped macadamias or toasted almonds.
