Ingredients
  

Puff Pastry
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Cheesecake Filling
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Strawberry Filling
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, diced or 1/2 cup strawberry preserves/jam
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar if using fresh strawberries
Optional Glaze
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar for optional glaze
  • 1-2 tsp milk for optional glaze
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract for optional glaze

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.
  3. If using fresh strawberries, toss them in another bowl with 1 tablespoon of sugar.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry and cut it into four equal squares.
Assembly
  1. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each square, then add a spoonful of strawberries.
  2. Fold over the pastry and press the edges together to seal.
  3. Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a glossy finish.
Baking
  1. Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Let the turnovers cool slightly after baking.
  3. For optional glaze, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle over the turnovers.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a toaster oven at 350 degrees F for 5-7 minutes.
