Ingredients
  

Dough and Filling
  • 2 cans 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough Use the flaky kind for extra yum!
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced and divided Bright red, sweet berries are a must!
Strawberry Sauce
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter Brings richness to your sauce.
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar For that deep, caramel-like sweetness.
  • 2 tsps vanilla extract Adds a warm, inviting aroma.
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon This will make your kitchen smell like a dream!
  • 2 tsps lemon juice A hint of acidity to brighten the flavor.
  • 1 cup 7-Up or Sprite Fizzy goodness makes it even better!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. Place a spoonful of sliced strawberries at the wide end of each triangle.
  4. Roll up the dough around the strawberries and pinch the seams to seal them.
  5. Arrange the dumplings in the baking dish with a little space in between.
Cooking
  1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and the remaining sliced strawberries. Microwave until butter is melted.
  2. Mash the strawberries into a jam-like consistency and stir in brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  3. Pour the strawberry sauce evenly over the dumplings in the baking dish.
  4. Gently pour the 7-Up or Sprite around the edges of the dish.
  5. Bake for 33-36 minutes, or until golden brown and sauce bubbles.
  6. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Use pre-sliced strawberries for quick prep. Avoid overstuffing dumplings. Swap in blueberries or peaches for a twist.
