Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into triangles.
- Place a spoonful of sliced strawberries at the wide end of each triangle.
- Roll up the dough around the strawberries and pinch the seams to seal them.
- Arrange the dumplings in the baking dish with a little space in between.
Cooking
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the butter and the remaining sliced strawberries. Microwave until butter is melted.
- Mash the strawberries into a jam-like consistency and stir in brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Pour the strawberry sauce evenly over the dumplings in the baking dish.
- Gently pour the 7-Up or Sprite around the edges of the dish.
- Bake for 33-36 minutes, or until golden brown and sauce bubbles.
- Let cool for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use pre-sliced strawberries for quick prep. Avoid overstuffing dumplings. Swap in blueberries or peaches for a twist.
