  • 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1.5 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry-flavored gelatin powder (dry)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberry cake mix (dry, heat-treated for safety)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: freeze-dried strawberries, crushed For extra burst of strawberry goodness!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by placing the Rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl. Make sure it’s nice and dry.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract into the melted mixture.
  4. Pour the melted mixture over the cereal and gently fold everything together.
  5. In a zip-top bag, combine the powdered sugar, strawberry gelatin powder, and strawberry cake mix. Shake to mix.
  6. Add the coated cereal to the dry mixture, seal the bag, and shake until coated.
  7. Spread everything onto parchment paper and let it cool for 20-30 minutes.
  8. If desired, sprinkle crushed freeze-dried strawberries over the top. Break apart and enjoy!

Notes

Store leftover Puppy Chow in an airtight container at room temperature. It can also be frozen in a zip-top bag for up to a month.
