- Start by greasing an 8x8 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Cooking
- In a saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk. Stir gently until it melts into a silky mixture.
- Remove from heat and stir in the peppermint extract and powdered sugar until well blended.
- Fold in the crushed peppermint candies for an extra festive zing, if desired.
- Quickly pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours to firm up.
- Once set, cut the fudge into squares and serve.
Notes
Store fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two weeks. It can also be frozen for longer storage. To reheat, use a gentle warm-up in the microwave.
