Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package Cocktail sausages Choose your favorite brand for a familiar, meaty pop.
  • 1 package Flaky dough (crescent roll dough or puff pastry) Puff pastry makes it extra crisp, but crescent dough is faster.
  • 1 large Egg wash (optional) Beaten egg plus a splash of water for a glossy finish.
  • as needed Decorative garnishes (optional) Think parsley, mustard, or a sweet chili dip.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven according to the dough package instructions.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Roll out the flaky dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Wrap each cocktail sausage in a strip of dough, tucking the ends underneath.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped sausages on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them an inch or two apart.
  2. Brush with egg wash if desired.
  3. Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and crispy, usually 12-18 minutes.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with decorative garnishes and dipping sauces on the side.

Notes

If you want a flavor twist, add a sprinkle of smoked paprika or a thin strip of cheddar before wrapping. Store cooled pastries in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat in a 350°F oven.
